Broken Sidekick 3

I have a T-Mobile Sidekick 3 and have been paying the $5.99/month equipment protection fee since I got it last year. The other day I broke the screen on my phone and I called Asurion, the insurance company, and requested they send me a replacement under my insurance.

All went under way and I paid the fee without problem. Then the phone arrived the next day and I opened the box and saw this orange Asurion box. My first thought is that the one they’ve sent is refurbished which is the case. However, it rattled when it vibrated and the back cover did not fit right.

So I called back and they shipped me another and I got it today and was pleased to open the box and find out that it was a normal sidekick box. They owned up and sent me a brand new sidekick. I didn’t have to take some refurbished piece of junk. That is such a relief that it’s all taken care of now.

And they even sent a new battery in the deal so I really won. I have a brand new factory battery so I am starting from scratch. The refurb one they had sent me came with one but it was a far lower capacity battery. They tried to shaft me at first but I ended up winning.

Hurray for beating the Insurance company!
