Movies to See

I am so ready to see “Evening” the new movie. It is going to be awesome. I mean, come on, Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. Then they use Dido for the music? What more could I possibly want from a movie?

It starts this Friday. Also starting this Friday is “Sicko”. That is on the list to see as well. It is going to be so good. I have always enjoyed a good Michael Moore film.

See you at the theatre!

Ride Severs Feet

I’m not one for Amusement Park rides at all. The speed and height scares me so I just stay away from them. I also fear Final Destination type incidents with them as well. In Kentucky, on a Six Flags ride, apparently a cord busted and the whiplash from the cord severed a child’s feet off. She was 13 the article says and she lost both feet from it.

Amusement Parks scare me and after hearing about this it makes me even less comfortable with going to them.

Summer Solstice

The longest day of the summer of 2007. We were swimming in the light until like past 8. It was pretty neat. Things are going pretty good around here these days. I’m really tired from the swim. It’s amazing how water will make me tired like that.

Hurray for more blogging. I’ve been feeling like blogging a lot more now.. :-D

Alli™ – Worth It?

I love people who are into the Alli pill or whatever the heck it is. Apparently, it’s the only FDA approved weight loss pill. I guess it is going to work when you have the shits! I mean, really, who would take this medicine with the side effects, or “treatment effects” as they call it. I just can’t believe anyone would take this with what is listed right on their website:

alli™ works by preventing the absorption of some of the fat you eat. The fat passes out of your body, so you may have bowel changes, known as treatment effects. You may get:

  • gas with oily spotting
  • loose stools
  • more frequent stools that may be hard to control

Just thinking about this makes me sick.

Safari 3

It’s nice to see Safari is coming to a new version. A lot of the rendering problems that have been fixed in the WebKit nightly builds are on here. Especially this annoying one that caused the balances in my account listing on Bank of America’s Online Banking to look wrong. It appears that buttons on webpages are now styled by CSS if set to do that rather than just being normal buttons. This looks better across the web and within the wordpress admin panel.

Sure, it’s a beta, but I am looking forward to the final version. It hasn’t been crashing on me like other people seem to be having. Of course, I did have a problem when I installed. I had installed this SIMBL plugin that would alert you when quitting with multiple windows/tabs or closing a window with multiple tabs. Since Safari 3 now has that feature built in, I didn’t need it. The plugin was actually making it where I was unable to close a window once it was open. I just removed the Taboo file and it went back to the normal working operation.

That’s the only problem I’ve had with it. It’s nice to see WebKit moving in good strides. I like the moveable tabs too!

You can get it for Windows too now. I’ve tested it on my brother’s XP computer and it works fine for me. It loads up in a blink to me. Some people have complained about plugins not working or something but they work for me fine. Flash and Java. I think it just imported them from the Firefox install or something.

Give it a try; if you hate it, uninstall it. Safari on Apple’s site.

BofA Interview

I had my interview with the Branch today and I think it went amazingly well. As a matter of fact, I feel like I have the job. I am thinking like I do. When I walked in, I went with the mindset of this job is mine to give me confidence and to keep down my nervousness for the interview. I really think the Manager noticed that I was on top of things.

I sure hope I get this job. It would be awesome. It’s at a very nice branch and the staff is so enthusiastic, I should fit right in with them all.

USPS Sucks

Would it be so difficult for mail to get anywhere on time? I mailed a balance transfer check to Chase so I could transfer one of my balances and now I have no idea where the check ended up. I sent it over a week ago and they still have not gotten it. Does it take a month to process it or what the hell is the deal?

I also paid a bill through my Shell FCU Online Banking and the payment hasn’t gotten there yet either. It was suppose to be there today according to the schedule but it’s not credited to my account by the creditor. I am trying to get ahead and when I do something goes wrong.

But that’s ok. I opened up a Checking account with Bank of America again so that I may pay my bills in only 1 business days. It is too long waiting on Shell’s slow ass banking system to cut a check and do it. I don’t know how Bank of America does it, but everything excluding my Car Note clears the following day.

I hate the Post Office. The mail is too slow. I knew I should have mailed that check on something I could track. I don’t want to stop payment it and send another since that would result in a fee when it actually gets there and they attempt to apply it to my account and find out that it has stopped payment.

I’m screwed on it so far. Maybe it will fix up soon.

iPhone

I was watching TV tonight and I realized that the iPhone is coming on June 29th. The passed the first ad tonight during 60 minutes. It looks like a really cool phone. Despite how cool it is, it makes me mad that it pushed back the release of Leopard. I was really wanting it soon but it won’t be out until the fall now.

The iPhone looks promising but it sucks that you have to take a minimum of a 2 year contract with the wireless branch of ma bell. I am too happy with T-Mobile and my Sidekick 3 to give them up to lock down with a new provider. My number is happy right where it is and I don’t have a contract. No contracts means I have negotiation power. I can pack my bags and move anytime.

Of course though, as a loyal Apple user, I will be jealous of the iPhone. I have a iBook and an iPod but no iPhone. I don’t know if I would even like something like that. I can only imagine the low battery life of that thing.
